This exotic print on light and elegant cotton voile was created exclusively for us by renowned artist Jean Lowe. Born in Eureka, California, Jean Lowe creates mixed-media installations that suggest Baroque and Rococo interiors of the European Upper Class of times past. Although large in size oftentimes, the work never overshadows the viewer, rather, it makes one rethink their place in this consumer culture and question society as a whole. By incorporating traditional styles with extra-ordinary techniques, the works tend to speak to a sensibility of beauty, while also offering food for thought. She earned her MFA at the University of California, San Diego in 1988, and her BA at the University of California, Berkeley. Her work has been included in more that fifty exhibitions throughout the U.S. and internationally. Recent solo shows include venues such as Rosamund Felsen Gallery, in Santa Monica, CA, and the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art in Kansas City, MO. She is represented by Quint Contemporary Art in La Jolla, Rosamund Felsen Gallery, and McKenzie Fine Arts in New York. Her studio is in Encinitas, California.
